• Newport and the Votes for Women Centennial

Keep the centennial celebration of the U.S. women’s right to vote going! Votes for women memorabilia, reminding us of the votes rallies at Marble House on Bellevue Avenue in the early 1900s, are available at Newport Mansions Store at Bannister’s Wharf and on-line at NewportStyle, a website of the Preservation Society of Newport County. Especially meaningful are cups, saucers, plates, napkins, and tea towels with the Votes for Women logo text that Alva Vanderbilt Belmont of Marble House designed for her rallies at the mansion.
